City Tours Redux

“Originally developed in collaboration with Kaleb Bennett as a 20 minute live performance that accompanied a minivan tour of inner-city Wellington, this piece was commissioned by The ‘Artbruit Department for the Development of the Sonic Arts’ as the culminating component of the City Tours project 2005-2009. Now presented in valve-amplified, hi-fidelity quadraphonic sound, Rex has expanded this work to include field recordings as well as internet samples and synthesizer. He uses a range of commercially-available and custom-built devices to interrogate the spatial and textural qualities of the urban soundscape.”
